Meet Dr. Joel

Hi, I’m Dr. Joel.  I became a dentist as a way to work with my hands and my mind to directly provide health care to people.  I grew up in Bowling Green, Kentucky and have degrees in Music and Religious Studies from Western Kentucky University.  I then attended the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. 

Soon after finishing dental school and practicing as a general dentist, I got a chance to spend some time working at a kids’ dental clinic in Northern Maine.  I LOVED IT!!!  I also saw that meeting the needs of pediatric dental patients was worth extra training as a specialist: kids are NOT little adults. 

A couple of years later, my wife and I moved to Nashville to be closer to family.  After 6 years of general practice, I was chosen to spend two years in a pediatric dental residency through NYU Langone Hospitals here in Nashville.  Since competing the program in 2018, I have become a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and practiced solely as a pediatric dentist.

My wife and I have a son and a Norwich Terrier. Both are full of energy and keep us active.

I believe that we must build our future one day at a time and I can do that best by treating your children as I would want my child to be treated.  I have started this private practice in order to best care for my patients and my community.   Come join me and my staff as we create our future, one smile at a time.
